Precinct Election Officials

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Muscatine County Precinct Election Official.

Precinct Election Official Brochure

Precinct Election Officials play a significant role in helping administer elections and are representatives of the Muscatine County Auditor's Office. PEOs should be available for the entire day, dress comfortably, and remain professional, fair, and impartial to all voters. Training will be provided. Job requirements include:

  • Watching the polls
  • Signing in voters
  • Assisting voters as needed
  • Tallying votes at the close of the polls

Hours required may vary between elections. We will generally try to schedule workers to work in their own precinct, but sometimes you may be asked to work in a different one. Precinct Election Officials always have the option to accept or decline the request to work an election.

If you are interested in becoming a precinct election official, please complete and submit the application below, or give us a call at 563-263-5821.
