Nature Camp - Flutter, Fly, & Forage

9:oo am - Polliwog Playtime for 18 mo. - 2.5 yrs.
10:00 am - Polliwog Playtime for 2.5 yrs. - 4 yrs.
11:00 am - Knee High Naturalists for 4-6 yr olds

Toddlers, bring your favorite adult to Nature Camp! Activities are designed to help toddlers explore nature through hands-on activities, stories, crafts, games, and activities.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-registration and payment is required for this event.

Please visit the Environmental Learning Center to register.

Monarch Tagging

Try your luck at catching Monarch Butterflies to tag on their way to Mexico. Wear long pants and bring a butterfly net if you have one. We will have a few extra nets to borrow if you don’t have one.

16th Annual Block Party

Discover Fly Fishing

Muscatine County Conservation is partnering with First Watch Fly Co. to offer Fly Casting and Fly Tying Classes designed for beginners and anyone looking to spend intentional time outdoors.

Join us for a hands-on, 4-hour morning session where you will learn the fundamentals of fly fishing in a relaxed, supportive environment.

What You Will Learn
Fly casting fundamentals and techniques
Gear setup including rod, reel, line, and leader
Introduction to reading water
Fly tying basics with step-by-step instruction

Class Details
Duration: 4-hour morning sessions
Skill Level: Beginner friendly
All equipment provided (or bring your own)

Whether you are new to fly fishing or looking to build your skills, this class is a great way to get started and connect with the outdoors right here in Muscatine County.

September Twilight Paddle

Let’s watch the sun set and the moon rise from Lake Chester.  Canoes, kayaks, and lifejackets are available to borrow, or bring your own.  Please bring a light that can be attached to your boat.  Sign up for any number of the upcoming Twilight Paddles.
