Required Inspections
On-site inspections are required to make sure the work conforms to the permit, adopted building codes and plans.
- Site Evaluation: Prior to doing the footings. (As needed per project.)
- Footings: To be completed before concrete is poured, after excavation for footings are complete and forms/rebar are in place. Includes all footings (pad, post, pier, spread, trench, etc.). Soil conditions and footing size shall be confirmed to meet the minimum requirements for the load.
- Groundwork: Underground or slab plumbing, HVAC, radon system, or electrical work before covering with concrete.
- Temporary Electrical: Inspect temporary electrical panel.
- Septic System: To be completed before tank and field are backfilled.
- Framing Rough-in: To be completed after the roof, all framing, fire blocking, and bracing are in place. Chimneys and vents are complete. The rough electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work are inspected.
- Final Inspection/Certificate of Occupancy: After all phases of construction are complete and the building is ready for occupancy. Finish grading shall be complete. A Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.
- Special Inspections: Additional inspections may be required based on the type of
project.
