Civil Deputy Assistant
Assists deputies by ensuring all papers received by the Sheriff are accounted for, docketed correctly, prepared for service and properly served. Receives, processes and conducts all necessary components of a Sheriffs sale. Receives and processes all commitment orders and protection orders. Ensures timely preparation of all papers and all necessary communication with other essential agencies. Communicates with attorneys, the general public and deputies regarding all matters listed above.
Starting salary $38,643 - $45,463 DOQ with excellent benefits package. Each applicant will need to complete an entrance exam. Testing information is available at the Muscatine County Jail, 400 Walnut Street, Muscatine, IA 52761. In addition to the entrance exam, successful applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, polygraph and drug screen.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of general clerical experience and two years of experience working with the public or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable under Muscatine County’s insurance policy.
