Traffic Control Technician
Muscatine County is advertising for a Traffic Control Technician. The position’s main task will be to maintain all aspects of the county road signs. This includes but is not limited to the labor and repair of signs, management of online sign database, submitting online One Calls, reviewing proper sign installation location and proper sign type by utilizing design standards. Assists in inspecting pavement marking maintenance. When required, shall attend traffic control related trainings. Proficient computer skills required. Position may be utilized for HMW 1 duties when needed, especially snow removal. This position will work out of the main shop location.
Minimum requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and six months related work experience. Commercial Driver License and insurable under Muscatine County’s insurance policy. Pre-employment drug screening required.
Starting hourly rate July 1, 2026: Grade 2 $26.66 - $28.49, based off qualifications and experience. Step raises with satisfactory performance.
